After careful review, Brandon and I have selected the stories for the Winter/January 2017 Issue of FBM. We’ve also picked the cover story and editors’ choice for this issue, which happen to be one and the same: MEAN GIRL by Barbara Eliasson. It packs one hell of a punch!

Author Reveal for July/Summer 2016 Issue

After careful review, Brandon and I have selected the stories for the Summer Issue of Flash Bang Mysteries, which goes live July 1, 2016. All of the authors have been notified and it’s now time to reveal their identities in a segment we call “Author Reveal”.

Winter 2016 Cover Reveal

The cover for the Winter 2016 issue of Flash Bang Mysteries, which goes live in January, is here! Please check it out and let us know what you think. As you will notice, Kaye George’s story, THIS ISN’T THE WAY, is featured on the cover. We’d like to congratulate Kaye for earning that distinction, and we’d like to thank all of the authors who submitted their work.

Today marks the end of the October 2015 submissions period. We want to thank all those who submitted their work for consideration. Brandon and I met several times over the reading period and had our final meeting late last night. The stories for the January 2016 issue have been carefully selected and the notices will go out soon. Once all the authors have been notified, we’ll do the Author Reveal Segment.

Again, we want to thank each and every author who submitted a story. Whether your story is accepted or not, we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to consider your work and we hope you will submit more in the future.

The next reading period will begin on January 1, 2016, when the second issue goes live. We look forward to seeing y’all then.

Fall 2015 Cover Reveal

The cover for the debut issue of Flash Bang Mysteries, which goes live in October of 2015, is here! Please check it out and let us know what you think. As you will notice, Warren Bull’s story, THE INTERVIEW, is featured on the cover. Picking the cover story was quite difficult, because all of the accepted stories are amazing. However, in the end, there can be only one, and we’d like to congratulate Warren for earning that distinction.

The very first issue of Flash Bang Mysteries will be live in October of 2015, and it’s shaping up to be a BANG! Brandon and I have narrowed down the acceptances and will be sending out notifications soon. Whether we accept your story or not, we’re honored that all of you took a chance on us in this early stage of our growth. We’re looking forward to a long and rewarding future filled with flash bangs that shock, surprise, and leave a mark!
